Mid Autumn Celebrations 2009

The sky was clear but no full moon in sight.  Though the celebrations were held 1 week before the 15th of the lunar calendar , that did not dampen the spirits of all who were present.

Traditionally Wat Ananda Temple and Wat Ananda Youth celebrate the Mid Autumn Festival every year.  This is the first time we invited 30 elderly from Chinatown to join us in the celebrations. Volunteers from WAY, YBC (Young Buddhist Chapter) and the Thai community took turns to put up performances for the elderly. The highlight was the "lantern carrying procession" led by 3 Venerables from Wat Ananda.  It's heartening that most of the elderly agreed to join the "procession" and walk with us around the temple vicinity.

Performances by the children from the Children Class, YBC, Thai Community. Also, singing by one of the elderly.
