3D - Dana, Dhamma, Durian 2012
It's the durian season again!! For durian lovers, it's a once-a-year affair to fill one's stomach with the "King of the fruits" (Durian). Usually from mid June to mid July, we will see busloads of tourists going to Malaysia to have durian feast. Of course, we also seized this opportunity to organise our 4th consecutive 3D trip to Malaysia!
As usual, we gather early in the morning hoping that we would beat the crowd at the Causeway and not be stuck in the jam at Customs. Though traffic was heavy at Causeway, we were able to clear Customs pretty fast. After clearing the Customs, we quickly go to one of the eating places to buy food to offer dana to Sangha at the Dhamma Light Meditation Centre (DLMC). This is the second time that we are visiting DLMC, the last being 2010. It was great to be able to go back to this meditation centre which is located in Api-Api, Pontian. The place is very quiet and conducive for those who wish to stay for a few days of retreat.
We brought food and requisites to offer dana to the Sangha. Venerable Jutipanno also gave a Dhamma talk on the importance of having Right View and Right Intention. After the feast for the mind (Dhamma talk), we adjourned to have the feast for our stomach! Though it was raining for almost the entire trip, this did not mar our 3D trip, which provided a feast for both the mind and stomach!
